One clip. A clear maximum.

How to make your video smaller

  1. Choose a preset

Start with a target above, or open Full controls for a custom maximum and video settings.

  2. Select your video

Choose a local file. Review the selected maximum, any resolution cap and the advice before compressing.

  3. Download and review

Save the result and check its quality. Upload or attach it in your destination app yourself.

There is no single email video limit

Gmail’s personal attachment budget and Outlook’s message-size guidance describe different limits. Mail servers may also enforce their own settings. Check the sender and recipient accounts instead of assuming that a 25 MB video works everywhere.

Raw file size is only part of it

Encoding an attachment for email can increase the message size. Leave space for that overhead, your message and other attachments. If a small target damages visible quality, a permission-controlled sharing link may be a better delivery method.

Questions about email

Should I ZIP the MP4?

An MP4 is already compressed, so ZIP often saves little. Video encoding is the step that trades visual detail for a substantially smaller file.

Why does my video fit here but fail in email?

The mail server checks the complete message, and the recipient may have a lower limit. Try a smaller target and check the error in your email app.

Can I change a preset?

Yes. Full controls opens the normal size ruler, custom maximum, resolution, frame rate and audio settings. Switching controls keeps the selected file. Presets set a maximum; the actual result can be smaller.

Will every video reach this size?

No. Very small targets can be unsuitable or fail for a long or detailed clip. Read the advice, try lower resolution or choose a larger maximum. Compression does not trim video or bypass a destination’s content and account rules.
